Feature details
We have a tractor with forks and bucket that can also be used.
Current production on farm
Production details
The land is privately owned but already being farmed by the Utopian Seed Project with a 50 year lease. We are interested in creating a diverse and cooperative environment! We have been speaking with the folks at Agrarian Commons and looking at life-long leases that allow farmers to build equity. Utopian Seed project produces resilient regionally-adapted seed. USP is fundraising to build a community seed processing barn on the land. USP would be excited to partner with a livestock/poultry farmer to graze cover crop.

Opportunity details
Seeking a goat or sheep farmer (ideally) to occupy fenced pasture areas. Some shelters available and springs within pastures. We have a lot of invasives and would offer free rent for someone willing to graze animals on denser areas sometimes. Property owner can provide gps collars to graze steep or unfenced areas. We have a well, solar energy system and outhouse available for the right person to park a tiny home/airstream etc on site. We are actively looking to put one portion of property into a housing cooperative with option to build once relationships are established.
Conservation easements or other programs
This land is protected under conservation easements or other programs.
We have ag status, a forestry plan and seeking a conservation easement.

Additional information about this property
We are working very closely with the Leicester Food Coalition and Tierra Fertile to build a grocery co-op down the street and could help connect a farmer to market opportunities.
